COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL IMPACT
Shangri-La remains committed to operating in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner. Under the umbrella of sustainability, Shangri-La’s social responsibility programme consists of the two elements of “EMBRACE” and “SANCTUARY.”
Embrace focuses on Shangri-La’s Care for People Project, which aims to promote the highest level of education and health support in underprivileged communities. In sanctuary, the programme concentrates on Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project, which promotes the conservation and restoration of biodiversity.

LUNAR RABBIT TOY
In partnership with sustainable toy maker plaay? Luxury Wooden Toys, we are offering handmade bespoke rabbit toys to raise funds for Make-A-Wish International. The toy is inspired by this Lunar Year of The Rabbit symbolising longevity and good fortune, with many considering the rabbit to be a lucky animal.
With every toy bought via goplaay.com, using the special promo code SHANGRILA, 10% of the profits will be donated to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The rabbit is handmade, created from sustainably sourced oak, hand painted with non-toxic paint, and black beads for eyes. All toys are CE certified to provide the highest standards of quality and safety for mini VIPS.

Hatay Friendship City
The devastating earthquakes in Turkey impacted the lives of people living in at least 11 provinces across the country. To offer some respite, Shangri-La Group in partnership with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency in Turkey (AFAD), has provided 300 furnished container homes to the residents of Hatay.
Located near Mustafa Kemal University, the container city has been named ‘Dostluk Kenti’ meaning "Friendship City" and will house up to 1200 displaced Hatay residents. The temporary homes are insulated, resistant to harsh weather conditions and have been fitted with the plumbing, electricity bathroom equipment and living furnishings of an everyday home.
Friendship City was made possible through donations by Shangri-La employees worldwide, which were matched by the Group. With Asian hospitality and heartfelt care at the core of our brand, we hope this contribution offers the people of Hatay some relief and stability during this challenging time.
