COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL IMPACT

Shangri-La remains committed to operating in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner.  Under the umbrella of sustainability, Shangri-La’s social responsibility programme consists of the two elements of “EMBRACE” and “SANCTUARY.”  

Embrace focuses on Shangri-La’s Care for People Project, which aims to promote the highest level of education and health support in underprivileged communities.  In sanctuary, the programme concentrates on Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project, which promotes the conservation and restoration of biodiversity.

Make-A-Wish Come True with Shangri-La

Family has always been at the heart of Shangri-La. Launching on World Family Day we are honoured to be supporting Make-A-Wish International with the inspiring work they do for families around the world. ​

A wish has the ability to transform the lives of children and their families during some of the most difficult times, giving a sense of hope and escapism when needed most. Shangri-La invites guests to make a difference by supporting this important cause to help children experience the power of imagination and the strength that comes from it.  

Shangri-La* is proudly supporting Make-A-Wish International with specially created Afternoon Teas, restaurant experiences, dedicated ‘Make-A-Wish Come True’ stays, and more to raise vital funds for the foundation. ​

Together, we hope to make every child’s wish come true.

Our culinary programme Rooted in Nature highlights locally and ethically-sourced food offerings. It enables all Shangri-La hotels and resorts to incorporate sustainable items from our unique markets into our menus.

Enjoy flavorsome dishes with exceptional quality across our hotels. Discover the braised local Seabream at Shang Palace Dubai, locally grown Orange Roma Tomato Carpaccio and Arugula in Mauritius, a luxury Afternoon Tea with organic and locally produced delights in Paris and much more.
